Sales Recruitment on the Rise

MACRO has noticed a significant rise in the hiring of sales staff.

The primary reasons given by Sales Managers are:

“To restock their diminished sales teams” and “To add fresh blood with fire in their belly.”

Many sales staff that remained through the GFC were hit hard emotionally by the downturn.
Many took on fixed ideas that low prospecting is acceptable as there are “limited opportunities”.
The market has changed since then.
This has meant that Sales Managers are now having to re-educate their sales staff.

The most common solution we have seen to this is Sales Managers taking on the role of BDM and the hiring of new Sales staff that are highly motivated. 
The majority of Sales Managers surveyed stated that this sends a message to their existing staff that sales are possible – and that they are replaceable!

We have also seen a strong surge in the positive motivation level new of Sales Staff.
This is mostly due to new hires who, previously being frustrated by not being employed in their chosen fields, are now excited by being let loose on the market.
