Modern Slavery Statement

MACRO Recruitment Australasia Pty Ltd
Last updated: October 2025

Our Commitment

MACRO Recruitment is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with Australian laws — including the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth).
We recognise that modern slavery can occur in many forms, such as forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, and exploitation through unfair working conditions.
As a recruitment and labour-hire provider, we take our responsibility seriously to ensure that all workers we engage, place, or represent are treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Our Business

MACRO Recruitment is an Australian-owned recruitment agency that provides permanent placement, contract, and labour-hire services across a wide range of industries, including:

  • Defence and engineering
  • Trades and manufacturing
  • Education
  • Professional services
  • Technology and administration

We operate nationally, supplying candidates and workforce solutions to both private and public sector clients.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain primarily consists of:

  • Recruitment and staffing services
  • Payroll and workforce management systems
  • Background verification, training, and compliance partners
  • IT and office service providers based in Australia

We do not manufacture, import, or export goods and therefore have a relatively low risk of modern slavery in our direct operations. However, we recognise that risks can exist in third-party service providers and labour supply chains where workers may be more vulnerable.

Our Policies and Due Diligence

To reduce the risk of modern slavery, MACRO Recruitment has implemented the following measures:

  • Candidate Verification: All workers are verified for right-to-work in Australia, visa status, and identity.
  • Client Vetting: We partner only with clients who demonstrate safe, fair, and lawful employment practices.
  • Labour-Hire Licensing: We hold and maintain all required state and territory labour-hire licences.
  • Supplier Conduct: Our suppliers are expected to comply with Australian workplace laws and ethical standards.
  • Reporting and Escalation: We encourage staff, contractors, and candidates to report any suspected unethical behaviour or exploitation through confidential channels.

Training and Awareness

Our team members receive ongoing training in:

  • Ethical recruitment practices
  • Workplace rights and safety
  • Identifying indicators of worker exploitation or coercion

We promote a culture of responsibility and vigilance across all areas of our business.

Continuous Improvement

MACRO Recruitment will continue to assess and improve our systems and practices to identify and address risks of modern slavery.
This includes regularly reviewing supplier relationships, updating our internal procedures, and engaging with industry bodies to ensure best-practice recruitment and labour-hire compliance.
