Searching

We have found since COVID that advertising on job boards is not working as well as it used to.
This means we need to put more resources into contacting suitable candidates directly and presenting your opportunity to them.
Upon taking a brief from you we:
• Send a nation-wide email to all candidates in our database that have the skills sets you are seeking, asking if they are interested or know of someone that is. This also catches people that have changed their location or open to relocate.
• Send a targeted SMS campaign out to all suitable candidates in our database that have been located from our AI tools
• Locate additional suitable candidates from 3rd party databases like SEEK, Indeed and our social media connections
• Place adverts on suitable job boards and Social media platforms
• Phone suitable candidates that our AI tools have surfaced
Screening
In addition to your selection criteria, in our interviews with candidates we will assess their:
• Past performance
• Behavioural profile (Using DISC and behavioural event questions)
• Motivations
• Knowledge
Once we have a match we will provide you with our interview notes and a copy of the candidates resume.
From their we’ll seek your feedback, being whether you’d like us to arrange a interview time form them to meet with you, or attain more information or to advise the candidate that they were not successful.
Whilst your interviewing process is proceeding, we’ll complete at least two reference checks on each of your shortlisted candidates.
From there you will be able to make a hiring decision.
Well advise all unsuccessful applicants and assist in presenting offers.

Recruiting IT professionals in Australia comes with its own set of challenges

- High Demand and Short Supply: There is a high demand for skilled IT professionals in Australia, particularly in areas such as software development, data science, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. However, there is often a shortage of qualified candidates with the necessary expertise to meet this demand.
- Skills Gap: The rapidly evolving nature of technology means that there is often a mismatch between the skills possessed by IT professionals and the skills required by employers. Finding candidates with the right combination of technical skills and industry knowledge can be challenging.
- Competition: IT professionals are in demand not only from tech companies but also from organizations across various industries. This heightened competition makes it challenging to attract and retain top talent.
- Visa and Immigration Issues: Hiring IT professionals from overseas can be complicated due to visa and immigration regulations. Sponsorship requirements and the associated paperwork can add to the recruitment process’s complexity.
- Salary Expectations: With the demand for IT professionals, salary expectations have risen in recent years. Meeting these expectations while remaining competitive in the market can be a challenge for some employers.
- Rapidly Changing Technologies: As technology evolves, new programming languages, frameworks, and tools emerge. Recruiters must stay updated with these advancements to accurately assess candidates’ skills and experiences.
- Cultural Fit: Finding candidates who not only possess the technical skills but also fit well into the company culture and align with its values and mission can be difficult.
- Remote Work and Flexibility: With the COVID-19 pandemic, many IT professionals have become accustomed to remote work and flexible arrangements. Companies must adapt to these preferences to attract and retain talent.
- Retention and Employee Engagement: Once hired, IT professionals may be lured away by better offers or opportunities. Retaining top talent and ensuring employee engagement are vital for long-term success.
- Gender Diversity: Like many tech industries, IT faces challenges related to gender diversity. Encouraging more women to pursue careers in IT and addressing potential biases during the recruitment process is essential.
- Age Diversity: IT recruitment should also consider age diversity, as there is often a focus on younger candidates, potentially overlooking experienced professionals who could bring valuable insights.
Addressing these challenges requires a strategic and proactive approach to IT recruitment. Companies may need to invest in training and upskilling current employees, offer attractive remuneration packages, develop strong employer branding, and maintain a continuous focus on candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
