Do you know that your handwriting gives away your secrets?

Your handwriting gives away so much about you in just a few lines that a trained person can make assessments and decisions about what type of person you are.

Imagine if you could look at an applicant’s handwriting and tell if they would be suitable for the position or not within a few minutes and compare the resume and interview results to detect misstatements.

I highly recommend that you consider using a handwriting analysis as part of your recruitment process. I have used handwriting analysis to screen out false resumes, poor job fits, aggressive behaviours, and even criminal tendencies based on characteristics of their handwriting.

Even just your signature can reveal over ten different traits and personality habits about you to the trained eye.

Common factors that handwriting analysis can reveal are;

• If you interact with customers with politeness and enjoy social interaction
• What you money handling skills are like
• If you are focused on details or if you let the little things slide
• Your level of commitment and ambition
• Whether you are a good team player or not
• If you have tendencies to bully and intimidate others
• Your level of stress capacity

Just recently I had to witness a document signing for authenticity and the person presenting the written statement was a male tradesman. I reviewed the statement and asked if this was his statement and that he wrote it. He stated wholeheartedly that it was his statement and he wrote the entire document.

I advised him that this was a legal statement he was making and that I know that he didn’t write the document. After a brief pause he admitted that he didn’t write the document and wanted to know what gave him away.

I didn’t tell him exactly what gave him away, but advised him that having a young female from a customer service background write the document for him does not provide the same handwriting as his would have and this is clearly noticeable.

As you can imagine, seeing lots of stylised circles dotted over the ‘i’s and smooth flowing handwriting, doesn’t fit a mature male with callused hands with a history of broken fingers.

Like any form of recruitment process I don’t recommend using handwriting analysis results as anything more than 20% of the application process because of the need for integrity and validity in employing people. However, it is useful to know when faced with resumes and trained interview applicants that present a different face to the interviewer.

People cannot fake their handwriting easily and often forget that it reveals so much about their true selves.

So next time pay a little more attention to handwriting on application forms and you will see what I mean.
